Sugar Rush

This picture records the moment when Special Forces stormed the G4S security van that had been taking a vast amount of wine gums (outside their sell by date) for destruction at a Midlands sweet factory.

A lone insurgent had previously hijacked the van with a view to eating or selling the sweets on the black market.

After lengthy negotiations the man surrendered and came out with his arms up shouting 'I thought this was the Anchor Supplies Wagon'.

The insurgent later named as Dean from Anchor Supplies was given a caution when he agreed to go into rehab and be treated for his sweet addiction.

A trader at Billing commented, 'Dean is a terrific guy and this was completely out of character, we knew he had a sweet tooth but never thought he would go this far'.
